Episodio #50- Estudio BEST de la incontinencia urinaria con la Dra Vivian Sung

En este estudio, el equipo de investigación del Hospital Women and Infants / Universidad de Brown está comparando dos formas de tratar la incontinencia urinaria de urgencia cuando los tratamientos iniciales no funcionan bien. In this study, the research team from Women and Infants Hospital / Brown University is comparing two ways to treat urge urinary incontinence when initial treatments do not work well. The first method is a beta agonist medication. The second method is Botox injections into the bladder. Both help to relax the bladder muscles, which can help manage the urge to urinate.

The research team is enrolling 432 women aged 18 and older with UUI. The women come from five sites across the country. These women have previously tried exercises and anticholinergic medications and still report that their symptoms bother them. The team is randomly assigning women to receive either beta agonist medications or Botox injections into the bladder.
